Stress can quietly take a toll on your body and soul. For me, it reached a point where I had to stop moving completely before I could begin to heal. The pause was not easy, but the experience shaped everything about Fierce Fitness Online. This is how I rebuilt that connection with my body, and why movement matters to me now—not just for dance or fitness, but for staying strong in every aspect of life.
When Stress Took Over
Working in a high-pressure environment for years left me physically and emotionally drained. The constant stress showed up as tight muscles, aches, and a deep fatigue that no amount of rest seemed to fix. I was on autopilot, striving to succeed and achieve in what I thought at the time was the pinnacle of my professional career. I landed my 'dream job'. Or was it? I was disconnected from my body, ignoring its signals and pushing through pain. Movement, which once brought me joy, became something I avoided because it felt overwhelming. I thought this was just what it felt like to be over 40.
But my body finally forced me to listen. I had to stop everything. The dance classes, pole sessions, training, hiking..all the movement I loved became impossible. Stepping away felt like losing myself, but it was the only way forward. My body needed rest, not another attempt to power through. Work had to change too.
Finding My Way Back
In that stillness, I started moving differently. Smaller. Gentler. I wasn't training—I was learning to feel again. To actually listen instead of override. It was the opposite of everything I'd done before. No hustle. No goals. Just movement that felt safe.
Eventually, I started noticing the mornings I woke up without pain. At first, it was rare. Then it happened more often. Those pain-free mornings gave me hope. It took time—a holistic approach that focused on healing from the inside out, not just fixing what hurt. That process is what got me to where I am today.
Recovery isn't something you rush. It's something you earn through patience and actually giving yourself what you need.
Why I Started Fierce Fitness Online
That's why I started Fierce Fitness Online. Because I know what it's like to feel completely disconnected from your own body. And I'm not the only woman who's been there—chasing achievement, perfection, and responsibility, constantly reaching for the next level at work, saying yes to every opportunity. And then coming to terms that the body keeps the score. I wanted to create a space where I could share how I rebuilt, restored, and re-emerged. Through dance, pole, and intentional movement that's designed to heal and celebrate our ability to move, create and connect, while building strength and confidence gradually.
What Keeps Me Going
Now I move because I want to. Because I can. Because I want my body to keep working for me as I get older. Movement is how I take care of myself and honor what my body can do...now, and forever.
I work on mobility, flexibility, and strength because those are what matter long-term. Pole and dance bring the joy back into it. They don't feel like exercise...because they are an expression. I've learned to stay present with how my body feels. No more ignoring signals. Recognizing when to pull back, when to recover, and when to celebrate.
Find Your Anchor
If you've ever felt disconnected from your body, know you're not alone. It's okay to slow down. Healing takes time, and it's absolutely possible.
Movement became my anchor. Fierce Fitness Online is my invitation for you to find yours. If you're ready to reconnect with your mind and body through dance, intentional movement, and strength...let's do it together!
